REALTORS® Running for Local Office

Local

No sooner than one of the biggest elections in the country ends, we turn our eyes to local municipal races. In November of 2017, most metro cities will be voting for their next Mayors and City Council members. So far a few REALTOR® members have thrown their hats in the ring.

The Atlanta City Council has attracted the attention of a few REALTOR® members. Kirk Rich, a REALTOR®
and current Director for the Atlanta Commercial Board of REALTORS, is running for Atlanta City Council, District 6. Kirk is vying to replace Alex Wan, who is running for City Council President. In District 4, ACBR Government Affairs Committee member Kimberly Parmer is running to unseat long time Councilwoman Cleta Winslow. REALTOR® Randy Gibbs is seeking to unseat District 12 Incumbent Joyce Sheperd.

To learn about these candidates, you can visit their websites at www.KirkForAtlanta.com, www.KimParmerDistrict4.com and www.GibbsForAtlanta.com.

The Government Affairs Committees for both the ACBR and the ARA will be interviewing candidates for the November elections in most of the metro cities and will submit a list of candidates that they feel best represent REALTORS®. If you know of any REALTOR® candidates in this year’s election, please let us know by contacting Aaron Johnson, Government Affairs Director at 404-732-0631 or by email at Aaron@ACBR.com
