Over 700 participants attended the 2018 South Metro Development Outlook (SMDO) Conference on February 22 where they were able to learn about current economic development projects as well as get a forecast of the future growth in the South Metro Region.
In it's 16th year, the SMDO Conference was created to highlight the economic growth in the southern region of metro Atlanta. Conference attendees heard from industry leaders, government officials, elected leaders, members of the development community, chambers of commerce and economic development experts.
Speakers included T. Dallas Smith of T. Dallas Smith and Company, Doug Hooker, Executive Director of the Atlanta Regional Commission, Carlotta Ungaro, President & CEO, Fayette Chamber of Commerce, Joe Bankoff, Chair, The Sam Nunn School of International Affairs, Gerald McDowell, Executive Director, Aerotropolis CID and many more. These speakers discussed the tremendous opportunities that the South Metro Region has to offer while not ignoring the challenges it faces.
