At almost six months, Sandy Springs continues to update its zoning code. On March 27th, the Sandy Springs Planning Commission held a public hearing on yet more updates to the Zoning Code updated in late 2017.
Recommendations by the Commission and the public included: expanding lot coverage limits on large parcels; keeping large setbacks for schools and churches; cutting a compromise on grading and retaining walls in residential setbacks; and denying more retail uses in the southern Roswell Road corridor. The Commission is also recommending a further study of zoning in order to ensure a “higher quality” of extended stay hotels.
The results of this meeting are recommendations to the City Council. The Council held a work session on April 3rd and is scheduled to have a final vote on April 17th.
