A real estate agent is a REALTOR® when he or she becomes a member of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION of REALTORS®, The Voice for Real Estate, the world's largest professional association. The term REALTOR® is a registered collective membership mark that identifies a real estate professional who is a member of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION of REALTORS® and subscribes to its strict Code of Ethics. When you join a local REALTOR® association, you automatically become a member of that association's state association and the National Association of REALTORS®.

Use of the term REALTOR®

It is important for all the Association's members to review their current usage of the term and make sure that it is done in a proper manner and is not in violation of the trademark.
