Before completing an application, please click here to carefully review the following guidelines and program information to thoroughly understand the expectations of our Mentees.

The application deadline is Monday, October 10, 2022.

Mission of the Diversity Committee:
The Diversity Mentorship Program was established to accelerate and assist inclusion into our industry for those who historically have been underrepresented among our ranks. The Atlanta Commercial Board of REALTORS® acknowledges a history of racial and gender discrimination and inequity within the commercial real estate industry that causes our current membership to lack the diversity of the community we serve. We are committed to increasing the diversity of our membership.

Program Description:
This program will offer an exceptional opportunity to be partnered with a leader in the commercial real estate community and provide the benefit of expert guidance, counsel, and inspiration. Throughout the year there will be networking and educational opportunities for you to attend and gain extensive knowledge of commercial real estate. Below are the events you will be required to attend as part of the program. Additional event dates will be provided at the kick-off meeting in November. If you are selected, you will be expected to attend a minimum of 8 out of the required 10 events.

Mentee Criteria:

  • Candidates must have a genuine interest in seeking opportunities or advancing their career in the commercial real estate industry.
  • Candidates must be an active member of The Atlanta Commercial Board of REALTORS®. Click here to view membership information and join the ACBR.
  • Post License classwork must be completed.
  • College students who are actively interested in pursuing Commercial Real Estate or Finance as a career and/or currently taking courses to obtain their Real Estate license, may apply. Click here to join as a Student Member of the ACBR.
  • Candidates must come from an under represented race and gender.

Time Commitment:
This is a year long program, officially beginning in January of 2023, with graduation expected in December of 2023. There will be several meetings to kick off the program at the end of 2022.

This program requires a commitment of your time and energy and resources. Over the course of the year you will be expected to attend 8 out of 10 industry events. Make sure that you will have ample time to dedicate to this program.

Program Expectations:
This program is based on the initiative and drive of the Mentee. The responsibility of setting up meetings with your Mentor --and coming fully prepared to those meetings -- is on you. Come prepared with a list of goals and questions before any meetings with your mentor, and take the time to express your gratitude for the time and expertise he or she is sharing with you.

Attendance Policy:
There will be several mandatory classes for the Mentees. Schedules are prepared months in advance to work with your calendars, but you must attend any mandatory meeting in order to graduate.

Application Process:
This is a highly competitive program. Every applicant will be carefully evaluated, so take the time to thoroughly answer all questions. Also, please note that if you are selected to continue, the second phase of the interview process will require an in person interview.
